Book 1

The second book in The Oases and the Hordes continues the story begun in The Hamlet in the Hills. Kell has moved with Lihana to the magically defended Oasis of Trondheim, where he starts school and encounters friendship and bullying.

The third book in The Oases and the Hordes. Kell is now ten and is being taught with Sanna and Milburn by Monika, in a post-industrial world where sanctuaries oppose the forces of the Hordes.

Book 4

The fourth volume of The Oases and the Hordes follows Kell, Sanna, and Milburn as they travel to Roeros and descend into the old copper mine, within a world still scarred by the wars against mechanisation and manipulation.

Kell is now twelve and approaching puberty with all the awakenings and problems this can present. Fifteen new children join his class, Ahwenda remains determined to reach Ireland, and a mysterious figure arrives in Trondheim from India.

Book 6

The sixth volume of The Oases and the Hordes is a prequel. Jor-gun, an orphan brought up in Northern India to be an expert martial artist, travels west in the hope of serving Lihana and the Resistance against the False Architects.

Book 7

Ahwenda has left Kell and Lihana in Trondheim. Against Lihana's misgivings she travels toward Ireland, hoping to become apprenticed to the Celtic Knights. With a little goodwill, this volume can be read independently of the other books in the series.

Ireland is the eighth book in The Oases and the Hordes. A prequel set more than a century in the future, before the Falarch Wars, it follows young people blessed with second sight as the false architects begin searching for those who can see into hidden worlds.
